Application Process for International Students

Applying to JvNU is a straightforward process. Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Collect Your Documents: Ensure you have the necessary documents, including:
    • Copy of your secondary school certificate/diploma with final exam results (original and translated if not in English or Hungarian).
    • Copy of your secondary school transcript (original and translated if not in English or Hungarian).
    • CV and motivation letter.
    • Copy of the photo page(s) of your valid passport (must be valid for at least 6 months).
    • For Master's applicants: Copy of your university transcript and Bachelor's degree.
  2. Apply Online: Register and complete the online application form on our application portal: John von Neumann University - Apply Online.
  3. Submit Your Application: Upload all required documents through the online system. Submitting your application is necessary for it to be processed.
  4. Online Interview and Test: If your application meets the initial requirements, you will be invited for an online interview. Be prepared to discuss your motivation and your English language skills. Some programs may also include a test, often focusing on high school-level mathematics.
  5. Conditional Acceptance Letter (CAL): Successful applicants will receive a conditional offer letter with program details, payment information, and deadlines.
  6. Transfer Fees: To receive your Final Acceptance Letter, you will need to pay the first year's tuition fee and other applicable fees (e.g., application fee of EUR 200, and dormitory fee of EUR 750).
  7. Final Acceptance Letter (FAL): Once the fees are transferred, the official Final Acceptance Letter will be issued and sent to you.
  8. Start Visa Procedure: With your Final Acceptance Letter, you can apply for a D-type (study) visa at the nearest Hungarian Embassy.
  9. Arrive to Hungary: Once your visa is granted, you can make your travel arrangements to Kecskemét and begin your studies!
