After graduating high school, Zoltán Nagy earned an economics degree from the Central University of Dresden (Dresdner Zentralhochschule) in Germany in 1991. He went on to defend his doctoral dissertation at the Technical University of Dresden (Technische Universität Dresden) in 1997. Since 2005, he's been an honorary professor first at Kecskemét College, and later at its successor, John von Neumann University. He serves as a regular part-time lecturer and is the program leader for the logistics engineering degree. Since 1998, he's also been the managing director of Phoenix Mecano Kecskemét Kft.
The Phoenix Mecano Group, headquartered in Switzerland, began as a family business before transforming into a publicly traded company listed on the Zurich stock exchange. Since its establishment in 1993, Phoenix Mecano Kecskemét Kft. has grown into a pivotal industrial company for Kecskemét and the surrounding region. With 900 employees, its operations are diverse, encompassing manufacturing, logistics, and research and development. The company was among the first to partner with our university for dual education. Currently, they're training 15 dual students across mechanical engineering, logistics engineering, business management, and IT engineering fields.
He emphasized their commitment, stating, "It's no secret that we invest heavily in our students' education. Six years ago, we embarked on this journey with the goal of making dual practical training at Phoenix Mecano a mark of prestige. We want it to guarantee that students acquire reliable, practical knowledge, enabling them to perform at a high standard—whether they continue their careers with us or elsewhere."
