Participants in the Neumann STEM Academy program received their scholarships at a formal ceremony on May 15, 2026. The program aims to promote STEM fields—namely, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—to support talent development, and to encourage informed career choices among high school students.

Another key objective of the initiative is to give high school students an opportunity to gain insight into the technical content of various engineering and computer science fields while they are still in school, as well as to prepare them for participation in student research clubs. Accordingly, the program is linked to the high school section of the TDK, helping to foster a mindset of research and innovation.

The implementation of the STEM Academy is supported by the National Talent Program, for which our institution has successfully applied for the second consecutive year. In the previous academic year, Neumann János University announced the scholarship program for 11th-grade high school students: at that time, a total of 64 applications were received from 12 high schools in 8 cities.

The program’s success has continued to grow this school year. The institution has once again secured a grant of 13 million forints to continue the program, this time for 12th-grade students, with an even greater focus on the specialized content of each field of study. This year’s call for applications received 73 submissions from students with outstanding academic records, 16 of whom were previous scholarship recipients who reapplied. Given the high quality of the applications, the institution is providing scholarships from its own funds to an additional 15 students, in addition to the 25 scholarship recipients supported by the National Talent Program.

The program offers participants a wide range of professional opportunities again this year. Advanced-level preparatory courses for the high school mathematics and physics exams have begun, and several students have also had the chance to gain insight into the work of the Student Science Conference. Throughout the school year, they were able to participate in various themed professional days, where they could explore fields such as vehicle diagnostics, plastics processing, 3D design, iOS programming, ethical hacking, and warehouse logistics.

As part of the program, a factory tour was also organized at Mercedes-Benz Hungary Kft., where students were able to experience modern industrial technologies and manufacturing processes firsthand.

The vehicle-focused career day was a particularly memorable experience, during which participants had the opportunity to learn about the innovative developments and vehicle-building teams at János Neumann University, including the Neumann H2, Megalux, Megaméter, and Supermoto projects.

However, the program is far from over. In the coming period, additional professional events await the students: the Neumann Solar Team will host a professional day featuring a presentation of their experiences, the Neumann Formula Student team will unveil its new race car, and there will be further factory visits to Phoenix Mecano and Hilti. In addition, participants can take part in courses designed to develop their skills in database management, networking, technical drawing and CAD, as well as presentation techniques.

One of the program’s unique opportunities is the Neumann Innovation Camp, to which the most active and motivated students may be invited.

Congratulations to the Neumann STEM Academy scholarship recipients, and we wish them continued success in their professional development!
