Dr. József Kárpáti, associate professor, the dean of our Business and Economics Faculty has spent two weeks in the frame of his guest professorship appointment at Bengbu University, in Anhui province, China.

During his stay, Dr. Kárpáti has provided a series of lectures for diverse groups of English speaking students at Bengbu University, including the students of foreign languages, e-commerce and engineering. He covered a wide range of topics during his lessons including European economics, business and contractual law regulations in Hungary and the European Union and labour law provisions. He also provided a presentation about the 1848-49 Hungarian revolution in the frame of an intercultural event prepared for the 15th March memorial day and met representatives of local business companies, introducing the investment and business regulations of Hungary for them. As Hungary serves as strategic commerical and industrial hub for Chinese companies in their European activities, the interest of Chinese enterpreneurs is growing dynamically in practical subjects of starting business in Hungary, and exporting to the EU market.

We continue our co-operation with Bengbu University in the nearest future by receiving a group of their students in July 2026 for a summer university camp, and our colleagues return to provide further courses in Bengbu, in Autumn this year.  John von Neumann University also plans to launch double degree bachelor training with Bengbu University in mechanical engineering from the academic year 2026/27.
