JvNU's 3rd International Week
John von Neumann University (JvNU) recently concluded its highly successful 3rd International Week, held in May, 2025. The four-day event brought together university representatives from 11 countries, underscoring JvNU's commitment to fostering global collaborations and strengthening its international presence.

The week aimed to facilitate experience exchange and solidify ongoing partnerships. University experts from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East participated, agreeing that mobility is the most effective way for distant cultures and scientific communities to meet, build personal relationships, and launch joint research groups and scientific projects.

Key discussions during the International Week laid the groundwork for concrete collaborations, including new dual degree programs with Bengbu University in China and Jizzakh University in Uzbekistan, which are expected to offer numerous opportunities for Kecskemét students as early as this autumn.

Beyond professional presentations, the program also included recreational activities, with the highlight being an international picnic on Wednesday evening. This informal gathering provided a valuable opportunity for Hungarian and international faculty, students, and university staff to connect, build relationships, and exchange experiences.

Kohi Habib, head of JvNU's international office, highlighted the university's extensive network, which includes over 70 foreign partner institutions both within and outside the European Union. These collaborations significantly benefit all parties involved through joint research and development projects, as well as faculty and student exchange programs.

The International Week also served to showcase JvNU's growing international student body. With nearly 300 foreign students currently enrolled across the university's three faculties, JvNU aims for international students to make up 20% of its total enrollment, encompassing both full-degree students and exchange participants. The success of the 3rd International Week reaffirms JvNU's position as a truly international institution, with its increasing presence on global maps paving the way for future achievements, including appearing on international rankings.
