The State University of Nakhichevan and John von Neumann University have signed a cooperation agreement.
Thanks to the agreement, students of Nakhichevan University, Azerbaijan and JvNU Kecskemét will be able to participate in a joint training programme.
The guests of the meeting were welcomed by the host, Sándor Lezsák, Vice President of the Hungarian Parliament, member of the Board of Trustees of the John von Neumann University Foundation. On behalf of Nakhichevan State University of Azerbaijan, Rector Prof. Dr Elbrus İsayev said that they are honoured to cooperate with JvNU. This is the first dual training programme between a university in Azerbaijan and a Hungarian university.
Dr habil Tamás Fülöp, Rector of John von Neumann University, said that in recent years the Kecskemét-based institution paid special attention to the internationalisation of the university. This new cooperation is also one of the bilateral agreements that serve not only the studies of foreign students in Hungary, but also the acquisition of experience abroad for young Hungarian students.
The event was honoured with the presence of His Excellency Tahir Taghizadeh, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Hungary, who invited the professional leadership of John von Neumann University to the COP 29 Climate Conference in Baku which starts soon.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Dr Zoltán Nagy, CEO of the University, Dr Lóránt Kovács, Dean of the University, and staff of the International Office.
