Dear Student,
You have made a good choice to study at the John von Neumann University.
Though in Kecskemét there are not hundreds of exchange students you can be part of a friendly community and an exciting life in Kecskemét.
We asked what are the best things in Kecskemét for an exchange student. Here are the answers:
- ’Every week there is an event called English Chat Club where we do a lot of activities, games and presentations about different countries and cultures.’
- ‘You can make more and deeper friendship in a small group than in a huge international campus.’
- ’Kecskemét is a small city so it is easier to get to know the real Hungarian culture and traditions than in a huge city.’
- ’Kecskemét is super close to Budapest and it is located in the middle of Europe.’
We hope that you will enjoy your studies and stay here and also living and working with Hungarian students.
Here are some advice from our former Erasmus students:
‘Communicate with your professors. They have a lot to teach you.’
‘Don’t be shy.’
‘Bring all kind of clothes.’
‘Travel in your free time inside and outside of the country.’
‘Pálinka is strong, but sometimes not so much.’
‘Don’t be nervous. Everything will be all right!’ Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!’
We wish you the very best in your future studies and look forward to welcoming you to Kecskemét as one of our exchange students soon.
