Our institution is located in Kecskemét, the county seat of Bács-Kiskun County, within the Southern Great Plain Region, specifically in the Danube-Tisza Interfluve. In 2021, we celebrated the 60th anniversary of higher vocational training in Kecskemét and the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Horticulture (our predecessor institution).

Our main task within agricultural higher education is to train entrepreneurial-minded agricultural and horticultural engineers. These professionals possess comprehensive knowledge, proficiency, and skills, enabling them to quickly and flexibly adapt to the constantly changing natural, social, economic, and market conditions. Our faculty offers full-time and correspondence bachelor's programs in Rural Development Agricultural Engineering, Horticultural Engineering, and Agricultural Engineering. Our bachelor's programs were fully renewed in September 2021, with new specializations introduced. Since September 2010, we have offered a Master of Science (MSc) program in Horticultural Engineering, and in 2014, we also began teaching the Master of Science (MSc) program in Rural Development. Our accredited higher education vocational training is in agricultural higher education (FOSZK). Within adult education, we offer a specialized program for viticulture and enology engineers/managers. The training provided here is practice-oriented, making it immediately applicable in the workplace. Theoretical education is supplemented by practical training in well-equipped laboratories, a teaching farm, a demonstration garden, and greenhouses. The library's extensive collection of specialized books and journals, available in both traditional and electronic formats, aids in preparation and professional orientation.

One of the cornerstones of training quality is the participation of instructors and students in research within their cultivated scientific fields. The faculty supports and assists all scientific activities that contribute to high-quality work and improved results.

We support the professional activities of farmers in the region with accredited soil and plant testing laboratories, raw food material testing and microbiology laboratories, a processing plant, and expert advisory services.
