The 36th Conference of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP Association of Universities of Asia and Pacific) was held in Bangkok in November 2023.
The conference, hosted by the justly famous University of Siam, Thailand, focused on innovative university programmes and projects that showcased how institutions are addressing the changing needs of the diverse audiences they serve. The AUAP's core missions are to promote a culture of quality and innovation in higher education, research and community service; to preserve and enhance the values and cultural diversity of Asia and the Pacific; and to maintain a platform for interaction and collaboration among its members.
The event was attended by Dr Norbert Csizmadia, President of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for John von Neumann University, who gave a presentation entitled 'The Big Picture: Complexity, Connectivity and Sustainability Synthesis of Geoplotics and Geography ( Geofuture)'.
At the conference, John von Neumann University signed 16 Cooperation Agreements with several universities in the Asian region, including Siam University in Thailand, and Sias University in China. These agreements are key steps in the development of the University's relations with Asia. During the conference, which lasted a few days, Norbert Csizmadia also gave a book presentation at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, which was also well received. The links established will provide opportunities for researcher and student exchange programmes and joint research development.
