On Friday, 13.05.2022, the honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Hungary Rohan Nanayakkara and his delegation of three persons visited our University.

The main topics of the meeting were the links between the two countries and the university's presence on the international stage. The Ambassador expressed his willingness to help international students to start their studies in Kecskemét, and to strengthen the relationship between John von Neumann University, Sri Lanka and the Maldives through student and faculty exchange programmes, which will personally help to establish partnership agreements in the future.

During the meeting, we presented the opportunities offered by Kecskemét and John von Neumann University for international students.  They were very positive about Kecskemét's geographical location and the university's practice-oriented and theoretical courses.

The delegation was received by Dr. Zoltán Weltsch, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and International Affairs, and the staff of the Foreign Affairs Office. After the meeting, the delegation was given a short tour of the university, which was very well received by the guests. The Ambassador said that it was like being at home for a while, as he himself is a mechanical engineer.

All in all, the meeting laid the foundations for a forward-looking international relationship that will further enrich both sides.
