Department of Innovative Vehicles and Materials
The department’s activities are carried out in four research groups:
- The Mechanical and Laser Beam Technologies Research Group focuses on three main areas in terms of both teaching an research: surface modification technologies, advanced joining processes (adhesive bonding and welding processes) and fields related to the ductile behavior of metals as well as the mechanical propoerties of materials.
- The Plastic Processing Research Group is involved in the production, development, manufacturing technologies (3D printing, injection moulding, extrusion and thermoforming) and material analysis of various polymers, composites and nanocomposites. Out material analysis processes include mechanical, thermomechanical and rheological procedures on different polymers.
- The Production Technology Research Group carries out research on the machining of special materials, methods of burr removal, the optimisation of technological parameters for machining, technologies for the improvement of cold ductile surfaces, and surface finishing technologies in the magnetic field.
- The Vehicle Technology Research Group serves as a regional research and teaching base in the fields of dynamics, self-driving technology, engine development and vehicle manufacturing. In addition to engine development and the latest engine operation solutions, we are also involved in studying drive dynamics and developing vehicle manufacturing technologies and materials.

Department of Information Technology
Our core activities are education, research, and development. In the domain of education, our primary goal is to provide students with up-to-date and readily applicable knowledge so that they are able to solve IT assignments in the fields of software development, safe system operation, and management of industrial processes.

Department of Basic Sciences
This department contributes to the education of all students attending any of the GAMF study programmes. We provide basic science courses (physics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, electricity, analysis, the mathematical foundations of computer science, probability and statistics), as well as courses in social science (management, legal studies). Our department hosts the supervises the bachelor’s programme in technical management. The department also supervises a postgraduate specialist training programme offered by the GAMF: quality systems engineering.
